What are Joraform Composters & How Do They Work?
The Joraform Compost Tumbler, designed by Swedish engineer Johannes Ravio in 1989, is an efficient, all-season composter. Its key feature is unique insulation that retains heat, allowing higher temperatures for faster composting, even of tougher materials like bones and pits. It remains one of the most effective composters for kitchen and garden waste today.

Smelly Compost:
Troubleshoot Your Compost
Problem: Strong, unpleasant smells coming from your compost bin.
Solution: Adjust the carbon-to-nitrogen ratio, add more browns (dry materials), and turn the compost to improve aeration.
Stagnant Compost:
Problem: Your compost seems to be taking forever to decompose.
Solution: Ensure a proper balance of greens and browns, optimize moisture levels, and turn the compost regularly to provide oxygen for the microbial activity.
Slimy Compost:
Problem: Compost is slimy and overly wet.
Solution: Add more browns, turn the compost, and cover the bin to prevent excess rainwater infiltration.
